Microsoft, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS and Wipro to Roll Out 200,000+ Copilot Licenses in India

Overview

• Satya Nadella announced in Bengaluru that each of the four IT services firms will deploy over 50,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, collectively surpassing 200,000.
• The partnerships follow Microsoft’s multi‑year plan to invest $17.5 billion in AI and cloud infrastructure, skilling and operations in India through 2029.
• Copilot’s intelligent agents are being embedded across Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams to speed decisions and orchestrate multi‑step business workflows.
• Microsoft highlighted “agent factories” and an IQ factory framework to create, deploy and govern task‑specific agents fed by organizational context.
• Developer tools including GitHub, Visual Studio and GitHub Codespaces were positioned as the backbone for building multi‑agent systems, as Nadella reiterated a goal for India to be the largest GitHub community by 2030.
