Microsoft Begins Rolling Out April Xbox Update With Per-Game Quick Resume, Home Pins, and Cloud Tools

The patch centers on player control across resumes, saves, streaming quality.

Overview

  • Microsoft is rolling out a new Xbox system update that adds several interface and quality-of-life features for Series X and Series S consoles.
  • Players can now turn Quick Resume off for individual games, a change that helps always-online titles that often throw connection errors when resumed from a suspended state.
  • The Home screen allows up to 10 custom groups and 10 individual games to be pinned, and a new Custom Colors menu lets users set profile hues and a matching accent in the Xbox Guide.
  • A new Play History tab in My games & apps pulls together recently played titles from console, PC, and cloud gaming into one view for faster navigation.
  • Game Cards now show a Save File Indicator for cloud sync status, and cloud play adds User Selected Resolution and a Network Quality Indicator to give players more control over streaming quality.
