- Microsoft began rolling out an in‑meeting toggle in early July that lets licensed meeting organizers and presenters turn Meeting AI features — Copilot, Facilitator, and Intelligent recap — on or off during live Teams calls.
- Admins keep the gate: Meeting AI features only appear after admin clearance and the in‑meeting toggle will not show if an admin policy disables Meeting AI for a tenant or for individual tools.
- The Facilitator tool can listen to meetings, perform web searches, and post answers to fill knowledge gaps while Intelligent recap generates AI notes and summaries, and those capabilities will be controllable by the new toggles.
- The staged global rollout covers Windows, macOS, web and mobile and is scheduled to move from targeted release in early July to general availability with expected completion by the end of July 2026.
