Overview
- Microsoft introduced Copilot Cowork, built with Anthropic’s Claude, to execute multi‑step tasks such as building presentations, compiling financials, emailing teams and scheduling, with a research preview rolling out to Frontier participants later this month.
- Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet models are now available across Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat, marking a move beyond exclusive reliance on OpenAI’s GPT models, with some usage included in the $30 Copilot plan and additional capacity purchasable.
- Agent 365, a governance and security control plane for monitoring and managing AI agents across an organization, will reach general availability on May 1 at $15 per user per month.
- Microsoft 365 E7 launches May 1 at $99 per user per month, bundling E5, Copilot, Entra Suite and Agent 365, which the company says is cheaper than buying the components separately.
- Microsoft emphasized that Copilot Cowork runs in the customer’s Microsoft 365 cloud tenant with enterprise data protections and auditability, and it reported Copilot momentum with paid seats up more than 160% year over year and daily usage up tenfold.
