Michigan Brings Back ‘I Voted’ Sticker Design Contest for 2026 Election

Submissions close May 1 at 5 p.m. EST with public voting scheduled for June.

Overview

  • Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson reopened the contest for designs that will appear on stickers given to voters in November 2026.
  • The competition is open to state residents in three groups: grades K–8, grades 9–12, and a general entry category for all Michiganders.
  • Entries must be original, nonpartisan, include the phrase “I Voted,” be completed on the official form, and follow one-entry-per-artist rules with no AI or copyrighted/trademarked material.
  • Winners will be announced later in the summer, and the selected designs will be produced as 2-inch stickers for local clerks to order for the Nov. 3 election.
  • The 2024 contest drew nearly 500 submissions and about 57,700 public votes, and a werewolf design by student Jayne Hynous later appeared on eBay listings priced as high as $500.
