Overview
- Michael Stilger, 41, was identified by the coroner as the bicyclist killed in the 4900 block of West Pages Lane around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
- Police say he was riding in the same direction as a car that hit him, trapping him under the vehicle, and he died at the scene.
- The driver continued for a distance before stopping and calling for help, with witnesses saying the stop came about 0.7 miles away.
- Witnesses said bystanders chased the car and had to jack it up to free Stilger from beneath it.
- LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating and will consult the Commonwealth’s Attorney, as officials plan rumble strips, larger lighted stop signs, and wider lane markings on a road neighbors call dangerous.
