Michael Holley Faints On Air During PFT Live Broadcast

PFT Live says Holley’s collapse was caused by overheating after he had not eaten or drunk before the show and the program will keep emergency-contact details for remote contributors going forward.

Overview

  • During the final 30 minutes of PFT Live, co-host Michael Holley became visibly unwell, swayed in his chair and then fainted while broadcasting from his home studio.
  • The show immediately cut to commercial so producers could try to reach Holley’s family and get help, and Holley began moving within roughly a minute.
  • PFT Live and host Mike Florio said Holley was overheated and had not eaten or drunk anything before the two-hour show, and Holley later required five stitches for a knee cut sustained in the fall.
  • ProFootballTalk exercised editorial control by having footage of the collapse removed, deciding not to re-air that episode on Peacock or NBCSN, and asking that circulated clips be taken down.
  • As a direct result of the incident, PFT Live will now keep emergency-contact information for all contributors appearing from home, a change intended to speed response to future remote medical emergencies.
