Overview
- MG revealed two electric concepts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed early July, the B-segment Go! and the D-segment Cyber Concept, to showcase a new design direction and on-stand technology demonstrations.
- MG confirmed the Go! previews a production model due in 2027 and said the concept and road car were designed by the MG Design Centre in London under design director Carl Gotham.
- The Cyber Concept is presented as a flagship, performance-minded D-segment SUV inspired by the EX181 land-speed car, but MG has not announced any production timetable for it.
- MG has withheld technical specifications for both concepts—battery capacity, motor output, range and charging figures remain unpublished—even as the company displayed AI, ADAS, sensor and LiDAR demonstrations at Goodwood.
- The moves form part of MG’s wider Europe-focused expansion backed by SAIC, positioning a character-led small EV to compete with the Renault 5 and Mini EV while signalling broader battery and hybrid advances to watch as models arrive from 2027 onward.
