Overview
- The line, inaugurated on February 2nd, reached a single-day peak of 68,149 riders about two months later, the SICT reported.
- The service runs between Observatorio in Mexico City and Zinacantepec in Toluca across seven stations with an end-to-end trip of about 60 minutes.
- Trains depart every 10 to 12 minutes, with 16 trainsets that are 100 meters long and can carry up to 719 passengers each.
- At Observatorio, riders can transfer to Metro Line 1, Cablebús Line 3, the RTP bus network, the CETRAM hub, and the Poniente intercity bus terminal.
- The route uses double electrified track with roughly 86 percent on elevated viaduct, and SICT says its control and monitoring systems support safety and could allow growth toward an estimated 140,000 riders a day.
