Mexico’s INDEP Sets May 28 Sealed-Bid Sale of 211 Seized Properties

The auction gives buyers a brief shot at government-seized real estate under tight rules with clear buyer-beware conditions.

Overview

  • INDEP, which published the call Monday, will take sealed offers Thursday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at its Mexico City auditorium, with a public opening at noon streamed on its official YouTube channel.
  • The sale lists 211 properties in 75 lots that include homes, shops, mixed-use sites, and land, all with title and possession, ranging from a 978,000‑peso house in Nuevo Laredo to a 76‑parcel La Majahua coastal block with a 465.2 million‑peso reserve.
  • In a sealed-bid process, bidders do not see rival offers until the opening event, and the highest valid offer wins under oversight from INDEP’s internal control office and a notary.
  • To participate, bidders must lodge a 15,000‑peso compliance deposit, pay at least 25% of a winning bid between May 28 and June 4, and settle the balance by August 24, 2026.
  • INDEP’s technical sheets note some lots have size differences versus local cadastre records and structures in ruin, so buyers must cover any regularization, repairs, or demolitions.
