Mexico Restarts Parcel Shipments to U.S. Under New Rules

New U.S. import rules impose a 10% charge with tighter limits for Mexican senders.

Overview

  • Mexico's Foreign Ministry, which announced the restart Wednesday, said Correos de México will keep its shipping prices.
  • The United States will collect a 10% charge on each package's declared value.
  • Each shipment must not exceed $800 in value and 20 kilograms in weight.
  • Packages must travel directly from Mexico to the United States and include a detailed contents list with the country of manufacture.
  • Mexico halted parcel service after U.S. measures in August 2025, allowed only letters and non-commercial documents in September, and now resumes full parcel service under the new rules.
