Overview
- For the week of July 4–10, 2026 the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público increased the fiscal stimulus to Magna to 0.71 pesos per liter and to diesel to 1.31 pesos per liter while leaving Premium at a 0.00 peso stimulus.
- The new stimuli lower the IEPS tax paid at the pump to about 5.98 pesos per liter for Magna and 6.04 pesos per liter for diesel while Premium drivers must pay the full IEPS of roughly 5.65–5.66 pesos per liter.
- The adjustment was published as an official agreement in the Diario Oficial de la Federación and reverses a recent run of cuts to support for Magna and diesel.
- The federal government complements the weekly stimuli with informal retail price targets for Magna and diesel and with Profeco verification visits to stations to check pump accuracy and posted prices.
- Retail pump prices still reflect other forces such as international crude, the peso-dollar exchange rate, refining and transport costs and Mexico’s reliance on fuel imports so the stimulus only partially shields consumers from price swings.
