Overview
- The Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público set weekly fiscal stimuli for June 13–19 that increase the subsidy for gasoline Magna to 1.02 MXN per liter, leave Premium at 0 MXN per liter, and cut diesel to 2.88 MXN per liter.
- Published IEPS (special production and services tax) charges for the week are Magna 5.68 MXN/l, Premium 5.66 MXN/l and Diesel 4.48 MXN/l, which raises the tax share for Premium to the full legal quota.
- Global oil prices fell to their lowest since early March with WTI at $84.88 per barrel on reports that a U.S.-Iran memorandum could be signed, and that price move shaped Hacienda’s decision to adjust stimuli.
- Market retail data from PETROIntelligence show a small pass-through: national diesel averages fell about 0.07 MXN/l to 27.15 MXN/l while Magna and Premium averages remained essentially unchanged.
- The SHCP issues these adjustments every Friday in the Diario Oficial de la Federación to smooth sudden international price swings, and a formal U.S.-Iran agreement could prompt further stimulus reductions if global supply improves.
