Mexico City Runs Standard Hoy No Circula on Tuesday After Contingency Was Lifted

Acceptable air readings remove the need for Doble Hoy No Circula.

Overview

  • The program, which runs 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, bars pink-sticker cars with plates ending in 7 or 8 that hold verification hologram 1 or 2.
  • Environmental officials report no active contingency, so the two-sticker Doble Hoy No Circula is not in effect after recent restrictions were lifted.
  • Vehicles with hologram 00 or 0, electric and hybrid cars, emergency and public-service units, motorcycles, and cars with disability plates may circulate.
  • Rules apply across all 16 Mexico City boroughs and 18 adjoining State of Mexico municipalities, and also cover the metro areas of Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco.
  • Violations carry fines of 20 to 30 UMAs with possible towing and impoundment, and CAMe will keep monitoring during ozone season in case stricter limits are needed.
