Mexico City Outlines Jan. 6 Protest Hotspots as Police Note Traffic Measures and Closures

Officials warn of slower travel from planned gatherings plus temporary street closures.

  • City security officials list at least seven gatherings today, beginning at 07:30 at Metro Buenavista by the Colectivo Lirios Buscadores de Izcalli.
  • Midday sites include the IPN administration offices in Gustavo A. Madero, the city prosecutor’s office in Doctores, and CECyT 9 in Miguel Hidalgo, with another action at the Superior Court in Iztapalapa.
  • A 12:30 meet-up by motorcycle collectives is scheduled at Hospital de Especialidades Dr. Belisario Domínguez, and ISSSTE Zacatecas pensioners plan a day-long presence at the Supreme Court.
  • The city is implementing reversible lanes on Circuito Interior from 06:30–09:00 between La Raza and Leibnitz and from 17:00–20:00 between Marina Nacional and La Raza.
  • Av. Hidalgo is closed between Paseo de la Reforma and Eje Central for a romería, Av. México Coyoacán has a lane reduction near Puente Xoco, and Periférico Norte remains partially closed for reconstruction through April 30.
