Overview
- The festival opened Dec. 20 with illuminated installations on the Zócalo, including three poinsettia-decorated trees, 14 luminous sculptures, a roughly 150‑meter light tunnel, and a giant Nativity.
- The published Zócalo schedule runs Dec. 20–Jan. 4 with 76 musical presentations spanning multiple genres and guests from Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Spain, and the United States.
- Acts on the bill include Los Cardenales de Nuevo León, Out of Control Army, La Barranca, Ibrahim Ferrer Jr., and a closing set by Chilean rapper Ana Tijoux on Jan. 4.
- All performances in the Zócalo are free to the public, with no programming on Dec. 31 due to a large electronic New Year’s Eve concert on Paseo de la Reforma near the Ángel de la Independencia.
- Beyond the main square, activities extend to 15 alcaldías with pastorelas, theater, circus, batucadas, dramatized walks, illuminated pieces, and artisan markets in community spaces.
