Overview
- Federal naval forces carried out coordinated raids in Tijuana on May 30 that led to the discovery and removal of 26 migrants from a residence in colonia Las Torres.
- The group included three women, 22 men and a presumed minor from states such as Chihuahua, Guerrero, Estado de México and Oaxaca, and all were placed at the disposal of migration and prosecutorial authorities.
- In the Las Torres intervention a foreign woman was detained at the property; officials have not disclosed her nationality or any formal charges.
- In a separate operation supporting the Fiscalía General de la República in colonia Poliducto agents arrested a man identified as a presumed generator of violence in Ensenada and seized a firearm, 14 rounds, about seven grams of suspected methamphetamine and the property.
- The raids reflect stepped-up multiagency enforcement in Tijuana, a key border corridor where authorities often search suspected migrant-holding sites and hand over people and seized items to the FGR for further investigation and possible prosecution.
