- Mexico’s Defense Ministry confirmed that Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes was wounded in a Sunday operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco, and died while being airlifted for treatment.
- Following the raid, CJNG operatives burned vehicles and erected roadblocks across Jalisco and in other states including Michoacán, Guanajuato, Colima, Tamaulipas and Nayarit.
- Operations at Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta airports were disrupted as airlines suspended or canceled flights; Air Canada halted Puerto Vallarta service and Delta issued waivers, with Southwest and Alaska canceling flights.
- Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus activated a code red, suspended public transportation and urged residents to shelter at home as federal and state security forces moved to contain the violence.
