  • Meta announced Facebook Verified on July 24, 2026 as a free badge intended to help users identify accounts run by real people rather than AI-generated profiles.
  • To get the badge users record a short video selfie that Facebook checks against their existing profile photos and Meta says the one-time process typically takes a few minutes.
  • The program is limited to individual accounts aged 18 or older that are in good standing, excludes Pages and ProMode, and will first display badges on Profile, Marketplace, Dating, and Groups with Feed placement to follow.
