Met Police Kilburn Crackdown Nets 45 Arrests, 1,161 Phones and 74 Illegal E-Bikes

The week-long sweep signals a wider Met effort to disrupt local supply chains for crime.

Overview

  • More than 50 officers spent a week on Kilburn High Road running warrants, extra patrols and licensing checks in response to reports of illegal e-bikes, e-scooters and mopeds used in crime.
  • The operation led to 45 arrests for alleged offences that included possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of offensive weapons and shoplifting.
  • Police seized 1,161 suspected stolen phones from a shop, and arrested four men aged 22 to 63 on suspicion of handling stolen goods and drug supply.
  • A stop site targeting two-wheeled vehicles produced three arrests, 74 illegal e-bike seizures and an intercepted van with nitrous oxide canisters worth more than £3,000.
  • Officers also recovered eight weapons, including two machetes over 50cm from a barbershop, which the Met links to a wider campaign that increased citywide weapon seizures by 75% in 2025.
