Overview
- PC Mark Thomas sexually assaulted a female client during a treatment on 3 August 2022 while working off duty at a beauty clinic.
- Cambridgeshire Police arrested him but closed the criminal investigation when the evidential threshold was not met.
- A Metropolitan Police misconduct panel found he breached standards on authority, respect and courtesy, and discreditable conduct, and dismissed him without notice.
- He will be added to the College of Policing Barred List, preventing employment by police forces and oversight bodies including the IOPC and HMICFRS.
- Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Stancombe condemned the conduct and noted Thomas had earlier received reflective practice for failing to register the clinic as a business interest.
