Met Detective Dismissed Over Sex Workers and Class A Drug Involvement Abroad

DC Pervaz Malik was dismissed without notice after a gross misconduct panel found him in breach on Tuesday.
The panel found that between 2016 and August 2023, during personal trips abroad, he arranged sex workers and took part in Class A drug use and supply.
Malik was arrested at Stansted Airport on 15 August 2023 on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs, but the Crown Prosecution Service later took no further action.
Investigators said he refused to provide the correct passcode to his mobile phone in February 2024 during the criminal inquiry.
He will be added to the College of Policing’s Barred List, which blocks future roles in police forces and oversight bodies as part of the Met’s drive to raise standards.
