Overview
- The probe began after a June 18 home security video showed a man placing an iPhone at a bathroom window and a blue-gray Rivian SUV near the scene.
- Detectives tracked that same Rivian and on June 28 observed the suspect enter a backyard near Parkway Boulevard, remove his pants, engage in lewd conduct and then take him into custody.
- Authorities charged 51-year-old Michael DiBenedetto with two counts of burglary and two counts of voyeurism and a judge set his bond at $25,000.
- Prosecutors cited a 2009 Illinois conviction for unlawful window peeking and court records show DiBenedetto identified himself as an attorney and offered an explanation for the earlier incident.
- Tempe police say the investigation is active, are urging any additional victims to come forward, and recommend residents secure windows, use motion-activated lighting and report suspicious activity.
