Merseyside Police Lock Down Anfield in Vanguard Raids, 66 Arrested and Eight Charged

  • About 300 officers executed 36 warrants targeting 46 named suspects in a coordinated operation concentrated in Anfield.
  • Police reported seizing an imitation firearm, drugs, thousands of pounds in cash, designer watches, counterfeit currency and three machetes during searches.
  • Around 160 vehicles were stopped at checkpoints, with arrests for drug driving and driving while disqualified, four vehicle seizures and 20 traffic offence reports.
  • Eight suspects have been charged to date, including alleged Class A and B drug supply and shop theft offences, following the day of action.
