Overview
- Meriden police officers responded to a Sagamore Road home and, after arriving Sunday morning, observed a man striking a victim in the head with a baseball bat; the victim sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
- Officer Anthony Offiaeli fired multiple shots during the encounter, striking the suspect, who was treated at the scene and taken to Hartford Hospital where he later died, according to the inspector general’s report.
