Mercury Opens €25 Million Plant-Engineering Hub in Schönebeck for Europe-Wide Supply

The hub is meant to speed builds by moving more work into a factory setting.

Overview

  • Mercury opened the Schönebeck center Thursday after a €25 million build that created about 13,000 square meters of production space.
  • The plant will prefabricate modules such as carbon- and stainless-steel piping, sprinkler systems, and high‑purity process infrastructure used in advanced manufacturing.
  • The company says the site will ship engineered systems to project locations in 15 regions across Europe.
  • CEO Eoin Vaughan said bringing engineering, factory prefabrication, and digital project management under one roof should raise quality and cut work done on site.
  • Local officials welcomed the move as strengthening Saxony-Anhalt’s industrial base, while Mercury outlined growth plans that include a possible total investment of up to €45 million, 75 jobs now, and a path toward about 200 roles as it serves data centers and chip projects.
