Mercedes-Benz Unveils EQS Facelift With Claimed 926 km WLTP Range

The overhaul signals a pivot to efficiency, rapid 800V charging, software-led features.

Overview

  • Mercedes-Benz, which revealed the refreshed EQS on Wednesday, claims up to 926 km of WLTP range for the EQS 450+.
  • The car moves to an 800V system that supports up to 350 kW DC fast charging, adding about 320 km in roughly 10 minutes with a battery size up to 122 kWh.
  • A new two-speed gearbox on the rear axle and stronger regenerative braking rated at 385 kW aim to raise efficiency in both highway cruising and city driving.
  • An optional steer-by-wire system with a yoke-style wheel will follow the initial rollout, while the Hyperscreen now runs MB.OS with an AI assistant and over-the-air updates.
  • Air suspension uses cloud data from other cars to soften or firm the ride for known bumps or rough patches, with deliveries expected in Europe and the United States in the second half of 2026 and WLTP figures usually testing higher than U.S. EPA ratings.
