Mercedes-Benz Confirms April 2026 India Launch for All-Electric CLA

The sedan will consolidate Mercedes-Benz’s entry lineup into a single EV that showcases its new 800-volt fast-charging architecture.

Overview

  • The CLA EV will replace the A-Class sedan as well as the EQA and EQB, streamlining Mercedes-Benz India’s entry offerings.
  • It forms part of the brand’s 12-model rollout for 2026 and is positioned as a premium, margin-focused gateway into the EV range.
  • Built on the new MMA platform, it supports DC fast charging up to 320 kW on an 800-volt system, with Mercedes claiming roughly 300 km added in about 10 minutes.
  • International models use an 85 kWh battery with WLTP-claimed ranges up to about 792 km, and India is expected to get the rear-wheel-drive CLA 250+.
  • Market expectations point to a price near Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom), lining it up against the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6 and BMW i4.
