Overview
- Mercedes-AMG, which on Tuesday named the Concept AMG GT Track Sport as the basis, has moved the GT3 and Black Series prototypes into a Nürburgring testing phase.
- The street-ready Black Series will act as the homologation model needed to sell the new GT3 to customer teams under FIA rules that link race cars to production runs.
- The camouflaged cars are color coded—red for GT3 and yellow‑green for Black Series—and have tested since October 2025 at Immendingen, Bilster Berg, Portimão and Monteblanco before reaching the Nordschleife.
- Affalterbach Racing GmbH, a wholly owned AMG unit, now leads development, bringing GT3 work in-house after years with partner HWA.
- Mercedes has withheld key specs and launch timing, with an AMG V8 expected but unconfirmed and reports pointing to a late‑2026 earliest debut ahead of the current GT3 homologation expiring at the end of 2029.
