Overview
- Aysam completed the installation of two macrometers at the Luján II plant in four hours, two ahead of plan, and began progressive system recovery and aqueduct purging across Gran Mendoza.
- The meter installations are part of a macro‑distribution optimization project exceeding USD 5.1 million, bringing the network to 12 units intended to improve service for about 1.1 million residents.
- Peru’s Comptroller warned Sedapal may be unable to continue free potable water distribution by cistern trucks in parts of ten Lima districts after failing to secure contractors for six of sixteen supply zones.
- The lapse could affect an estimated 941 housing associations in poverty or extreme poverty in sectors of Villa María del Triunfo, San Juan de Miraflores, Pucusana, Lurín, Punta Hermosa, San Bartolo, Punta Negra, Cieneguilla, La Molina and Pachacamac.
- Separately, Sedapal scheduled maintenance cuts for January 24–26 across Comas, Lurigancho, Ate and Puente Piedra, advising users to store water and limit consumption as service is temporarily suspended.
