Menahga Woman Killed After SUV Travels Under Semi on Highway 87
Minnesota State Patrol is investigating with officials withholding the victim’s identity pending next-of-kin notification.

- The crash occurred Thursday night around 10 p.m. on Highway 87 near milepost 15 in Evergreen Township when first responders were called to the scene.
- Authorities say a semitruck was backing into a residence on the north side of the highway when a westbound SUV drove underneath the trailer, killing the SUV driver.
- The semi driver was not hurt and officials reported dry road conditions and that alcohol was not involved in the crash.
- Detroit Lakes Fire, Wolf Lake Fire, Frazee Fire, Frazee Police, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and the State Patrol all assisted at the scene.
- The State Patrol will continue its probe with standard steps such as scene reconstruction and witness interviews and is expected to release the woman’s identity after next-of-kin notification.
