Media Previews Reveal PokéPark Kanto Ahead of Feb. 5 Tokyo Opening

The first permanent outdoor Pokémon park translates the Kanto setting into two immersive zones featuring attractions, live shows, themed food, exclusive merchandise.

Overview

  • Located inside Yomiuriland in the Tokyo area, the 2.6‑hectare park is divided into Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town.
  • Pokémon Forest offers an around 500‑meter exploration route populated by life‑size creatures, while Sedge Town serves as the urban hub for dining, shopping, and activities.
  • Sedge Town features two permanent rides—Vee Vee Voyage (an Eevee carousel) and Pika Pika Paradise (a Pikachu‑powered spinner)—plus scheduled parades including the Pikachu and Eevee Bubble Carnival.
  • Previews highlight more than 600 Pokémon across the park, many with voices, along with a Pokémon Center staffed by a Nurse Joy for a Poké Ball healing experience and an entrance sequence that includes Professor Oak’s lab.
  • Themed offerings include starter‑Pokémon drinks, frozen Pikachu and Eevee treats, and a Snorlax popcorn bucket, with exclusive plush and apparel in shops; tickets use dynamic pricing reportedly ranging from ¥4,700 to ¥16,500, and the project complements separate Pokémon attractions planned for Universal parks.
