Overview
- A rotating, inclined platform ride known locally as the 'Disco Show' malfunctioned on Tuesday night, causing a door to open while the attraction was in motion and throwing riders from the car.
- Emergency crews including SEM ambulances, Bomberos, Mossos d'Esquadra and Policía Local attended the scene and treated multiple victims at the fairground and Hospital de Vic.
- Two girls, reported as about 12 and 14 years old, were hospitalized with fractures and are not reported to be in life-threatening condition while several other injured people received minor treatment.
- The ride has been sealed and a formal Mossos investigation is open with peritos and inspectors from the Consejería de Empresa y Trabajo due to review the mechanism, maintenance records and permit compliance.
- As a precaution the remainder of the fair was closed and municipal officials will monitor the regulatory review, which could lead to administrative or legal action depending on the inspectors' findings.
