McMurtry Unveils Spéirling Pure Production Track Car

The limited-run track car keeps the prototype’s fan-based downforce to boost grip, adding a larger battery and safety changes to make it usable by customers.

Overview

  • McMurtry confirmed the Spéirling Pure as a 100-unit, track-only production run priced at about £995,000 with customer deliveries due later in 2026 and public displays planned at Goodwood and The Quail.
  • The company lists headline performance of roughly 1,000 hp, 0–60 mph in 1.55 seconds, a top speed of 190 mph, a 100 kWh battery and a production curb weight near 1,350 kg.
  • The production car retains McMurtry’s Downforce-on-Demand system driven by two high-speed fans that can produce up to 2,000 kg of downforce from a standstill and are rated to run during spins for added stability.
  • McMurtry says the Pure is about 95% new parts versus the prototype and adds a larger battery for roughly 40–50 km of LMP2-pace track running, hydraulic steering, wider Michelin slicks, charging from 20% to 95% in about 20–60 minutes and an optional portable three-phase power bank.
  • The Spéirling’s move to production follows a run of record-setting prototype laps at circuits including Goodwood, Laguna Seca and the Top Gear track, and McMurtry says owners will get factory training, events and support while independent long-form testing of the production car’s claims is still pending.
