McMurtry to Reveal Production Spéirling PURE Ahead of Limited 100‑Car Run

The track-only electric fan car has been reengineered to make its prototype downforce usable for private owners with deliveries planned before the end of 2026.

Overview

  • McMurtry has teased a full reveal of the Spéirling PURE for next week and says first customer deliveries will begin before the end of 2026.
  • The company says the production car uses 95% new components compared with the prototypes to improve ownership, usability and reliability.
  • The PURE will be offered as a strictly track-only model, capped at about 100 examples and priced at roughly £1 million (about $1.32–$1.36 million) each.
  • McMurtry markets extreme performance for the PURE: about 1,000 horsepower, roughly 0–62 mph in 1.55 seconds, a near 1,300 kg curb weight, and a fan system that can produce up to 2,000 kg of downforce from standstill.
  • The fan-car uses an underbody fan to create suction-based downforce rather than relying on conventional wings and diffusers, a concept first used in 1970s motorsport that McMurtry says lets the PURE corner at up to about 3.5 g and could change how high-performance EVs manage traction and tire limits.
