McMurtry Starts Production of the Spéirling PURE Fan‑Powered Track Hypercar

Featuring a 100 kWh battery, roughly 1,000 hp, a patented twin‑fan system rated to 2,000 kg of downforce, the Spéirling PURE moves extreme prototype aerodynamics into limited customer production.

Overview

  • McMurtry has begun building the single‑seat Spéirling PURE as a limited production model with a listed price from £995,000 and 25 cars reported sold so far.
  • The production car uses a new 100 kWh battery and twin rear motors rated at about 1,000 hp, with company claims of 0–60 mph in 1.55 seconds and a top speed near 190 mph.
  • Its patented twin‑fan Downforce‑on‑Demand system is said to generate up to 2,000 kg (4,409 lbs) of downforce from zero speed, enabling extreme cornering and braking forces that McMurtry rates up to 3g.
  • McMurtry reworked roughly 95% of components from the prototypes to improve safety and usability, adding a motorsport‑grade carbon monocoque, larger cabin and battery, higher ride height, revised steering and optional comforts to make owner operation simpler.
  • Customer deliveries are expected later in 2026 with a public production debut planned at The Quail, while independent, long‑form testing of the production car’s performance and durability remains pending and will determine how this technology alters track‑car ownership and competition.
