- McLaren said Friday the car is named MCL-HY, with a May 4 unveil that will also include a track-only MCL-HY GTR.

- The prototype uses a Dallara chassis, a three-liter twin-turbo V6 from Autotecnica Motori, and the regulations’ Bosch hybrid system.
- United Autosports will operate the program with James Barclay on the pit wall, and Mikkel Jensen is the first confirmed driver.
