Maynard James Keenan To Open Queen B Sushi in Old Town Cottonwood

Keenan will leverage his wine labels with artist venues to position Northern Arizona as a dining and cultural destination.

Overview

  • Multiple outlets reported on Aug. 18 that Queen B Sushi is scheduled to open Sept. 4 at 816 N. Main St. in Old Town Cottonwood and that reservations are already being taken.
  • Culinary director Brett Vibber, whose résumé includes Roka Akor, will lead the kitchen and has recruited Chuhiro “Thomas” Kato and Sheridan “Sher” Chase to build the sushi program.
  • The menu will be paired with a rotating selection of wines from Keenan’s Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards, tying the restaurant to his existing wine operations.
  • The restaurant grows out of the Keenans’ Queen B Vinyl Café, which was expanded into a café and coffee roaster in 2024 and now serves as Northern Arizona’s Record Store Day location and a small performance space.
  • Keenan’s hospitality expansion follows more than 20 years of work to build the Verde Valley wine scene, it may boost local tourism and jobs, and he will resume touring with A Perfect Circle on Nov. 25 while a possible Tool Sphere residency remains unconfirmed.
