Mauritius President Completes Tirumala Pilgrimage With Pledge for TTD-Guided Vedic School

  • Dharambeer Gokhool offered prayers at Tirumala’s Lord Venkateswara shrine after first visiting the Bhu Varahaswamy temple in keeping with tradition, spending about ten minutes before the deity in the sanctum.
  • TTD and Andhra Pradesh officials, including Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, TTD Chairman B. R. Naidu and EO Anil Kumar Singhal, accorded a formal reception, Veda Ashirvachanam and ceremonial honours such as Shesha Vastram and theertha prasadam.
  • The President announced Mauritius will set up a Vedic school at the under-construction Harihara temple with guidance from TTD, marking a new cultural and educational collaboration that is at the commitment stage.
  • He visited the Sri Veda Vignana Peetam and the SV Veda Patasala, addressed students and faculty, and reflected on his background as a teacher and the role of educators in nation-building.
  • The two-day trip also included visits to the Srikalahasti and Tiruchanur temples, framing the pilgrimage as a platform for deepening IndiaMauritius cultural ties.
