Overview
- BVNK added native Stellar support to its stablecoin infrastructure on Tuesday, making the network available to enterprise customers in more than 130 markets through BVNK’s single API.
- Mastercard completed its acquisition of BVNK in August and has folded BVNK’s payment rails into its payments business to link fiat systems with on-chain assets.
- The integration targets cross-border B2B payments, merchant payouts, settlement and treasury flows and follows institutional testing such as a U.S. Bank intercompany USBDC transfer on Stellar.
- XLM’s price rose about 2.7% on the announcement, but BVNK has not disclosed whether customers must hold XLM, how much volume will route through Stellar, or when additional Stellar-native assets will be added.
- BVNK’s platform hides blockchain complexity so firms do not need separate network integrations, which could cut technical work and lower transfer costs even though greater rails do not guarantee long-term demand for Stellar’s native token.
