Overview
- The blaze started late on Thursday night at a two-storey warehouse on Oxgate Lane in Brent and rapidly involved most of the building and its roof.
- London Fire Brigade crews received dozens of calls and deployed about 25 fire engines and roughly 150 firefighters plus four 32m turntable ladders, a high-volume pump and a hose layer to tackle the fire.
- Around 70 people from a neighbouring residential block were evacuated as a precaution and nearby residents were warned to keep doors and windows closed because of heavy smoke.
- Firefighters brought the blaze under control in the early hours of Friday morning and remained on site through the morning damping down hotspots with no injuries reported.
- The LFB’s Fire Investigation Team is examining the scene to determine the cause, and local road closures and disruption will remain while crews finish extinguishing remaining pockets of fire.
