Overview
- Ukrainian officials say Russia launched a combined air assault on the night of 29–30 July that used more than 70 rockets and roughly 280 attack drones and left at least eight dead and more than 50 wounded.
- The strikes hit Kyiv and regions from Lviv to Mykolaiv, causing building collapses, fires and ongoing search-and-rescue operations with crews still digging survivors from rubble in Dnipro and Lviv areas.
- Poland reported debris and a crater in Lublin province and Ukrainian diplomats and officials said a Russian Kh-101 likely crossed into Polish airspace, a development that has raised NATO escalation concerns.
- Kyiv appealed urgently for more interceptor missiles for systems such as Patriot and is pressing partners on rapid deliveries and possible licensed production as commanders warn supplies are critically low.
- Separately, Ukraine confirmed long-range strikes inside Russia on 29 July against oil and logistics targets and the SBU has charged two detained Russian servicemen over the abduction and cruel treatment of a civilian in Kharkiv region.
