Overview
- The largest blaze in the Cinco Villas area near Zaragoza, which broke out on Wednesday, has burned an estimated 12,000–16,000 hectares and forced more than 1,100 people to evacuate.
- Roughly 400–450 firefighters on the ground are supported by aircraft, bulldozers and Military Emergency Unit reinforcements as crews focus on protecting towns and critical access routes.
- Officials say variable, strong winds and very high temperatures are hindering containment and could cause parts of the perimeter to reignite.
- Authorities report no casualties so far in the northern and central fires and the Guardia Civil has detained or is investigating suspects in separate suspected-arson probes.
