Mass. State Trooper Charged After Viral Quincy Bar Fight Video
The criminal charge sends the case to court while the State Police continue a separate internal investigation.
Overview
- Surveillance footage from June 26 shows Trooper Christopher C. Regan striking a fellow trooper several times at ReelHouse Marina Bay, and the clip was later posted online and widely shared.
- Regan was formally charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and battery and is scheduled for arraignment in Quincy District Court on Sept. 10, 2026.
- State Police suspended Regan with pay, reassigned both troopers from Suffolk County DA detective duties to the Division of Field Services, and opened a probe by the Office of Professional Integrity and Accountability.
- Quincy police initial on-scene notes said the alleged victim refused to cooperate and decline treatment, but later reports and bar staff statements described severe facial swelling, bleeding, and brief unconsciousness.
- The troopers’ union says Regan will obtain private counsel and he declined a clerk-magistrate 'show cause' hearing, while payroll records show he was paid through Aug. 6 as the separate administrative process continues.
