Overview
- The confrontation occurred Friday night when officers responded just before 11:30 p.m. to a home on the 3200 block of Springfield Drive in Pleasure Ridge Park.
- Police say a masked man entered the house and stabbed the husband, who wrestled the knife away and stabbed the intruder in return.
- LMPD identified the suspect as 25-year-old Andrew Kastor and said a K9 later found him hiding in a nearby trash can before he was taken to UofL Hospital.
- Both the suspect and the homeowner were treated for non-life-threatening wounds and are expected to recover, and charges have not yet been announced.
- The homeowner told reporters the intruder was his wife's former fling and said his children were home during the attack, and investigators will now probe motive and potential charges.
