Marvin Ducksch Convicted and Banned After Drink-Drive Crash

The 14-month driving disqualification and financial penalties increase pressure on the striker's playing future at Birmingham City.

Overview

  • Ducksch pleaded guilty at Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court on 20 May 2026 and was banned from driving for 14 months.
  • The court recorded a breath test of 53mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg.
  • Magistrates fined him a total of £16,155 and ordered £2,000 in victim compensation plus a £2,000 surcharge and £85 costs, making a combined bill of £20,240 that he may pay by instalments.
  • The crash was a three-car collision on the A3400 near Henley-in-Arden at about 10.30pm on Easter Monday, hours after he had appeared as a substitute for Birmingham City, and one motorist suffered facial injuries and a nosebleed.
  • Birmingham City has already imposed internal penalties including financial sanctions and match exclusions, and the conviction may affect Ducksch's reputation and selection while he serves the driving ban.
