Marvel Tōkon Launches Worldwide as PS5 Praise Clashes with Troubled PC Rollout

Early praise on PlayStation is being overshadowed by widespread technical problems and access limits on the Windows PC release that could hurt online play and cross-platform matches.

Overview

  • Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls went live worldwide on August 6, 2026, as a simultaneous global unlock for PS5 and Windows PC with a 20-character, 4v4 tag-team roster and episodic single-player content.
  • PlayStation 5 users have given the game generally positive early feedback and high PlayStation Store ratings, helped by a limited-time PS Plus pack and stable console performance.
  • PC players report severe issues including micro-stuttering, frequent frame drops, very high CPU use, rollback and netcode interruptions during online matches, and a day-one Steam user rating that sits in the mixed-to-negative range.
  • Windows users also face mandatory PlayStation Network login requirements that block play in about 132 countries and a lack of Linux or Steam Deck support, with many players unable to launch the game without workarounds.
  • Arc System Works has said it is actively investigating and has begun issuing fixes and collecting player feedback, but persistent PC problems are already reducing player confidence and could harm competitive and crossplay matchmaking until resolved.
