Marvel Releases VisionQuest Trailer and Sets Disney+ Premiere for Oct. 14

The D23 trailer places Vision inside a surreal “mind palace” where human-avatar AIs, including a human-form Ultron, force him to confront his restored memories and identity.

Overview

  • Marvel debuted the first full VisionQuest trailer at D23 on Friday and confirmed the series will premiere on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
  • Paul Bettany returns as White Vision and James Spader was confirmed to reprise Ultron, including a human-form presentation of the villain shown in the trailer.
  • The series is set largely inside Vision’s psyche, where human-avatar versions of AIs such as JARVIS, F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H. and Jocasta populate a ‘mind palace’ that frames Vision’s internal conflict.
  • Ruaridh Mollica plays Thomas (Tommy) Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son and who drives the show’s stakes; Terry Matalas is showrunner and the run is reported as eight episodes shot at Pinewood Studios.
  • A D23 exhibit included fan-shared concept art of a fiery figure some outlets speculate could be the original Human Torch, but Marvel has not confirmed that casting or character identification.
