Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar Rail Siding Hits 100,000 Vehicle Dispatches in Nine Months

The milestone underscores Maruti’s plan to raise rail’s share of shipments to 35% by FY2030-31.

Overview

  • The company said Wednesday the Manesar in-plant siding dispatched 100,000 vehicles in nine months since operations began in June 2025.
  • Maruti estimates the rail shift from Manesar has avoided about 16,800 tonnes of CO2e and eased road congestion.
  • The hub now serves 380 cities from 17 distribution hubs using more than 500 train rakes since launch.
  • Built under the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor and registered under the PM GatiShakti plan, the 46-acre, fully electrified site has four full-length rake tracks and capacity to move about 450,000 units a year.
  • Rail carried 26% of the company’s outbound vehicles in 2025, up from 5% in 2016, and Maruti targets 35% by FY2030-31 after moving a record 585,000 units by rail in 2025.
