Marseille Signs Mohamed Baradji to First Pro Deal Through 2029

The 18-year-old centre-back’s promotion reflects OM’s intent to secure and develop young defensive talent for the senior squad.

Overview

  • Olympique de Marseille officially converted Mohamed Baradji’s trainee agreement into his first professional contract running until 2029.
  • Baradji joined OM from Paris Saint-Germain last summer on a two-year stagiaire (trainee) deal before earning the pro contract.
  • He played five of six UEFA Youth League matches, two Coupe Gambardella games and the U19 play-off quarter-final under coach Grégory Auger.
  • Baradji spent most of the season with the reserves, appearing in 14 Championnat National 3 matches and other development fixtures while standing out at 1.88 m.
  • He has recently trained with Bruno Genesio’s first-team group and the club’s string of youth pro signings suggests OM is prioritizing internal defensive depth over immediate external recruitment.
